Roaring Waterfalls at Iguaçu (a poem)

Roaring Waterfalls at Iguaçu

The Waterfalls, lightness, a fractured barrier of thunder,
Takes place all around me and above me.
And out of that, miles around the green forest,
Below the blue of the sky, and cuddly clouds,
Into the deep watery falls; and the ran falls
With a pure rhythm, into Iguaçu’s lap—is this not Art?
And the linked immensity—serenity of thought!
The subject you may say is water, power, brutality,
And the beauty rising above, where earthly things
Are brought to its splintering peak, this subject
Is a replication to the glory of God…!
