Baals and Bashan Bulls
(a Siluk Haiku)
Who are you,
of selfish indulgence and arrogant pride?
Who are
you, with this fierce
aggressive manner?
Out of control, with merciless
resistance—
Forsake the world for the Kingdom of God!
As you can see,
the strong and fat Bulls of Bashan
surround thee!
Lift up your heads the Lord
strong and Mighty,
the Lord Mighty in battle
who is this King of Glory?
The old is cancelled, the new revealed
(the old bulls
have turned into Baals—
to
idolaters and evildoers)…
